On this page I'll talk about some of my favorite players on my favorite team. It's going to be hard to choose just two or three!

My First Favorite Player

The reason I first decided to have Johnny as my favorite player was that he's cute. He is also a very good player. He begins his 3rd season with the Red Sox after 6 years with the Royals (1995-2000) and one with the Athletics (2001). He has also topped 100 runs scored and 30 doubles in each of the last 6 seasons. He has stolen 30 or more bases 4 times. He leads the A.L. with 134 stolen bases since the start of the 2000 season. In 2003, his 2nd season with the Red Sox, Johnny batted .273 with 32 doubles, 6 triples, 12 home runs, 67 RBI, a team-best 30 steals and 103 runs scored. And Johnny only needs 97 hits for 1,500 in his major league career and 6 steals for 250.

My Second Favorite Player

Billy is my second favorite player on the Sox. I loved him when he first came to the Sox last season. He is a very good player and contributes a lot to the team. As the 2003 A.L. batting champion and Silver Slugger Award winner, Mueller begins his 2nd season in Boston, his 9th year in the majors. The switch hitter previously played with the Giants (1996-2000 and 2002), Cubs (2001-2002), with his league-leading .326 average last season, ran his career mark to .293. He has established personal bests with a team-high 45 doubles, 19 home runs and 85 RBI. Billy only needs 3 doubles for 200 in his major league career, 76 games for 1,000 and 64 hits for 1,000.During the 2003 season he hit .342 at Fenway and .309 on the road, And he was 2nd to Manny Ramirez (.320) in road average on the club, they were the only 2 Sox to bat .300 away from Fenway.

My Third Favorite Player

Nomar is one of the teams leaders, he is a great player, and not to mention a good guy. He was selected to his 5th All-Star team on his way to batting .301 with 37 doubles, a Red Sox-best 13 triples, 28 home runs, a team-leading 105 RBI, a team-high 120 runs scored and 19 stolen bases. He topped 100 runs scored for the 6th time in 7 years. He also appeared in a team-high 156 games, matching his personal best for the 2nd year in a row. While he was hitting .323 through the end of August, but batted just .170 (16-for-94) in September. While ranking 2nd in the A.L. with a career-high 13 triples, one behind league leader Cristian Guzman of the Twins, he tripled in 4 straight games May 31-June 4, the first major leaguer to do so since Sammy Sosa. From April 27-May 26, Nomar posted a 26-game hitting streak, longest in the A.L. and 2nd-longest in the major leagues in 2003...the streak was the 2nd-longest of his career and tied for the 6th-longest in Red Sox history.
